I think it’s time. Your tires will thank you (and last longer) and the City road crews will thank you (and roads will last longer) .
Driving on bare pavement with studded tires really doesn’t do much anyhow. Why not schedule a time this week to get it done?

Matt, Manager In West Olympia
I want to introduce myself, I’m Matt the new manager at the Good Neighbor Tire & Auto store in west Olympia.
While I’ve been here a few months now I’ve been pretty caught up in setting things up like I want them. We sold our place in Renton and my wife, son and I moved here to be closer to work – and also my favorite fishing and hunting spots. I’ve got family down here so I’m no stranger to Olympia! Stop by and say hello when you’re in the area – we can swap fish stories.

Just because it’s a little warmer around here (compared with most of the country) it’s not time yet to relax just yet. Car starting a little slower than normal? Windshield wipers streaking? Heater not quite as hot as it used to be?
Maybe it’s time to have our Winter Maintenance Service! Call or stop in today and we’ll make sure everything is tip-top.

It’s July and it’s hot out there! Did you know that your AC and the defroster you use to clear the windows in the fall and winter are interrelated? Well they are. The AC starts when you first turn on the defroster and acts as a dehumidifier – clearing the windows quickly and more efficiently. It’s important that all these heating, ventilation and air conditioning subsystems work together. If your AC or defroster is on the fritz – give me a call and we’ll get you going fast.

Travis - Your Auto Care Expert In Renton
Pot Holes, Pot Holes, Pot Holes EVERYWHERE! The roads around here have sure seen better days. All those bumps and dips are pretty tough on your tires, wheels and wheel alignment. A lot of our customers have mentioned their cars are shaking a little more than usual and finding it a little harder to keep everything running straight and true while riding down the freeway. It’s really a good idea to have your tires and suspension checked twice a year. Our computerized wheel balance service can revitalize that ride you like and our wheel alignment service keeps everything lined up right.
Then the only Shakin’ Goin’ On will be Elvis on the radio.

Now that it looks like the ice and snow is finally behind us it’s time to think about spring time driving. How are your wiper blades? Streaking and squeeking? Your wipers really take a beating during those frosty mornings. Why not stop in today and have a new pair installed?
Also, while you’re in – take a look at the Aquapel windshield treatment. It’s amazing how much better you can see and how much better your windshield clears once it’s been treated. Mention you read about Aquapel here and we’ll give you $5 off the treatment service.

Travis Wiseman - Your Man In Renton
Well the groundhog saw his shadow a few weeks ago so we’re not yet done with winter. Cold, dark damp weather can lead you to make a quick dash from your front door to your car with little chance to observe the basics like you do when it’s warm and bright outside. Your tire air pressure actually drops a few pounds per month during the colder weather. All tires lose a little air every few months or so so it’s very important to maintaim proper air pressure for better fuel economy, tire tread life and a more comfortable stable ride. Of course it’s best to check your tires at each gasoline fillup but who’s remembering to do that? Just stop by anytime and we’ll handle that for you. We’re happy to help keep you on the road and driving safely.

Doug Paradise - Manager of Olympia Store
Hello, as Travis wrote, winter is the toughest season for your automobile. Your battery often takes most of the abuse as the power need to start your car when the weather is cold is enourmous. Next, we often have electrical accessories running too – like the heater blower, windshield wipers and the headlights. Regular testing and servicing of your battery can help you identify a weak or failing battery before it leaves you stranded. Your auto care center can perform a simple inexpensive test which can quite accurately predict the life remaining in your battery so you can deal with the issue before you have to call us for a jump start.

Travis - Manager of Good Neighbor Tire - Renton
Hello! Travis here, writing about a few tips to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape in the colder winter months here in western Washington. We all know that colder weather can take its toll on radiators and heaters. That’s why it’s important to keep your engine’s cooling system serviced regularly. You really should be changing the engine coolant (antifreeze) every 2 years or so. Your mileage is not as important as the time really. All engine coolant wears out over time – becoming loaded with sludge and eventually it’s too acidic to prevent corrosion of important metallic components of the engine’s cooling system. Further, your heater core in the passenger compartment corrodes too which can lead to leaks which can be expensive to repair.
